Fourth year in a row for Proctor and Matthews at Housing Design Awards

Our Steepleton Retirement Village in Tetbury, Gloucestershire, has won a HAPPI Award at the 2015 Housing Design Awards. Last night's success represents the fourth year in a row that Proctor and Matthews have been recognised by the Housing Design Awards, and the award for Tetbury is our eighth Housing Design Award.

Steepleton Retirement Village, which we designed for Pegasus Life, is currently on site. It comprises 114 Assisted Living units on the edge of the market town of Tetbury, and offers a wide range of recreation and support services alongside high quality accommodation in extensive grounds. Its layout is informed by historic Cotswold farmsteads and almshouses, with a series of open courtyards around which buildings are clustered on a comfortable domestic scale. At the heart of the development, a new ‘village hall’ contains communal facilities including a large dining area and lounge, care and therapy provision, IT facilities and an exercise room. The central open-air swimming pond provides a further focus for neighbourhood activities.

The project is expected to complete in 2017.
