Supporting collaborative practice

We are proud to support the Collaborative Practice and MArch programmes at Sheffield and Cardiff Universities which blend practice-based experience with academic learning.

The Practice continues to forge strong links with the UK’s leading Universities and are involved in research, teaching and the development of architectural education.

We are delighted that this year two of our staff members have decided to continue their architectural studies whilst working at Proctor and Matthews. Parniyan Salari and Samantha Algret both joined the practice in 2017 and have since worked on key projects at South Thamesmead, Tweedbank in the Scottish Borders and Cambridge.

"Collaborative practice made sense as the next step in my education. Working on projects at Proctor and Matthews helped me learn a great amount about architecture and the industry, which my university would not have been able to teach. Combining the experienced-based learning with academic learning for the first year of study of the MArch is a great opportunity to further understand how top UK practices operate."

Samantha Algret

“Working at a top UK practice, Proctor and Matthews, I have become confident and aware of the practicality of Architecture and decision making based on reality. Certainly, I could not have gained this experience just by studying. I choose the Collaborative Practice programme as I believe this experience can only be improved by being both at the practice and the academic learning environment." Parniyan Salari
